Who we are

Salt Tree Advisory’s Managing Director is Jack Plimmer, a Chartered Professional Civil Engineer with over 20 years of project management and delivery experience. Jack has supported the management and delivery of complex and ambitious infrastructure projects in every state and territory in Australia and overseas, including Antarctica, Indonesia, East Timor, and Tonga. Most of Jack’s background has been in delivering tourism or national security projects. The skills and systems he has developed in these demanding industries mean he is well placed to help you achieve project success in yours.

Salt Tree Advisory took form while Jack took a sabbatical year traveling around Australia with his wife and three boys in their caravan. This year reignited Jack's passion for regional Australia and excellence in regional projects. Through Salt Tree Advisory, Jack wants to use his extensive project delivery experience to help people and organisations achieve their ambitious goals and support the sustainable development of this incredible country we call home.

Why Salt Tree? We love what these two things stand for. To us, salt represents preservation and making things last longer. It also makes things tastier, bringing out the full potential of the inherent flavours. Trees represent nature, growth, and being ecologically sustainable. They also provide shade from the heat and bear fruit. Jack’s oldest son came up with the name on the back seat of their car driving through outback QLD.

Salt Tree Advisory is a veteran-owned business. Jack served over 15 years full-time in the Royal Australian Engineers, Australian Army, completing a number of operational overseas tours, and remains active in the Army Reserve.
